Our Story
Welcome to Nipper's Cafe
Since 1999, we have proudly owned a variety of restaurants in Manchester, VT. In 2010, Nipper’s Cafe became a cornerstone of the community, serving as a beloved neighborhood spot where the comforting soul of classic American cuisine meets the creative flair of an upscale bistro. Located at 4645 Main Street in our distinctive blue cottage, we offer "elevated comfort food" in a space that feels fresh, modern, and inviting.
A Bright & Welcoming Atmosphere
Step inside, and you will find a dining room that blends modern comfort with authentic local character. The space is bright and clean, featuring comfortable leather seating and large windows that fill the room with natural light. While our interior is polished and contemporary, the walls are adorned with vibrant paintings celebrating Vermont’s iconic barns and landscapes—a colorful nod to the beautiful region we call home.
A Piece of Our History
The large window-pane mirrors lining our dining room aren't just for decoration—they are part of the original building’s history. To preserve the authentic character of our blue cottage, we kept the original wooden window frames, carefully sanding and staining them by hand before having the custom glass mirrors installed. These repurposed windows now reflect the natural light and vibrant energy of the cafe, serving as a beautiful bridge between the building's past and our modern bistro feel.

Our menu is crafted to satisfy every craving using fresh, local ingredients. We believe in quality you can taste, which is why we proudly serve Pure Vermont Maple Syrup from Bob’s Maple Shop, creamy Cabot Greek Yogurt, and sharp Cabot Vermont Cheddar.
Our commitment to freshness starts every morning: our seasonal fruit is hand-selected from Dutton Farm Stand and Shaw’s, while our legendary Homemade Corned Beef Hash is slow-boiled for 6–8 hours to achieve perfect tenderness. Even our Famous Seasoned Home Fries carry a flavor so unique, the recipe is a closely guarded family secret!

- The Best Benedicts in Town: Known for our Homemade Hollandaise—whisked by hand with fresh egg yolks, Cabot butter, and lemon juice—our Benedicts range from Traditional Canadian Bacon to our house-made Lump Crab Cakes seasoned with Old Bay.
